How to evolve Scyther into Scizor?

Here’s where you can find the metal coat in Switch games:
- Sword and Shield – you can find it in Stow-on-Side, Bridge Field or try to catch Steelix, Bronzor or Magneton holding it (although there is only a 5% chance of this happening)
- A brilliant diamond and a shining pearl – you can get the metal cloak from Byron on the Iron Island or try to catch the Magnemite, Skarmory, Bronzor, Steelix, Beldrum or Bronzong who is holding it (though the chance of this happening is only 5%)
- Legends: Arceus – Can be purchased at the Jubilife Village Trading Post, sometimes from Ginter (although it is known as Metallic Grease if you buy it from him), and in space-time dimensions
- Scarlet and purple – the metal coat can be purchased at Delibird Presents in Levinci and at the Porto Marinada auction

- Scarlet and purple – Scizor can appear as a 5-star or 6-star Tera Raid battle
Outside of the games above, you’ll need to get the Metal Cloak and trade Scyther for it to get Scizor. Legends: Arceus is unique in that you can catch Scizor or evolve Scyther by simply giving it a metal shell, with no trading part, making this the only game where you don’t need a trading buddy. The same goes for getting players like Gengar and Alakazam in the PLA.
As you might guess, you need a metal shell, Scizor is a Bug and Steel Pokémon, which means it has a lot of resistances. You can discover a steel Pokémon’s weakness in case you ever encounter one.
