Screamer has released a recent video showing the gameplay mechanics

Milestone has released a video highlighting the gameplay mechanics of its upcoming anime-style arcade racing game Screamer, detailing the timing and entropy elements of the Echo system. Both Sync and Entropy have advantages for drivers in Screamer, dealing with attacking and defending as battles take place on the tracks to gain an advantage.

Synchronization is achieved passively, but can be supplemented by pulling an vigorous change. Sync is used to generate shields to defend against incoming attacks or to power up to gain extra speed. Synchronization in turn generates Entropy and this is what you exploit to attack. Entropy allows for Strike and Overdrive attacks. Smash is an attack that can cause other racers to explode, while Overdrive is a high-powered attack that increases speed, provides short-lived cover, and allows you to knock out opponents, but there’s a catch. If you hit a wall in Overdrive, your car will explode, so choosing the right moment to exploit it will be crucial. In addition to these skills, each character will also have their own abilities that they can exploit.

Screamer is scheduled for release in 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
