In retro news, I’m celebrating my 30th birthday Jim the Earthwormrun ‘n’ gun platformer that is as iconic as it is bizarre. I vividly remember being amazed by its fluid character animations, as they matched the high [Agra]ba[h]r set by Disney’s Aladdin from the previous year. What’s more, EJ exuded a unique weirdness that provided gameplay changes from level to level and knowledgeable satire on hackneyed gaming formulas. It was a real shame when the series’ impoverished attempt at 3D-ing ended up putting Jim in the mud for good.
