In retro news, I’m celebrating PC’s birthday Sonic albumport from the ill-fated Mega-CD. It started as an upgrade to Sonic 1, but has grown into a unique, Back to the future play, and my 16-bit brain was delighted with the excellent 60 frames per second, crisp CD soundtrack, anime cutscenes, and Super Peel Out mechanics. Amy Rose also made her debut, Super Mario Kart-looking special stages and the coolest 2D Sonic villain that has ever existed – Metal Sonic. Oh, and let’s not forget its actual save system. No more leaving the computer on for several days For me!
