RuneScape is undoubtedly one of the largest and most popular MMORPGs ever released, even setting a Guinness World Record. Now, 23 years later, this sprawling fantasy universe is finally making its way into comics, and IGN can exclusively reveal full details about RuneScape: Untold Tales of the God Wars.

RuneScape: Untold Tales of the God Wars is a four-part series produced in partnership with Jagex. The series is written by Ryan O’Sullivan (Void Trip) and illustrated by Sid Kotian (Gambit) and Daniel Bayliss (RuneScape FCBD Edition). Covers are by Kotian, Alan Quah, Ivan Shavrin, Alex Moore, and RuneScape lead concept artist Dave Barker.
As the title suggests, Untold Tales of the God Wars delves into the game’s God Wars dungeon quest arc, which concerns an epic battle between four factions for control of the mythical Godsword, a blade capable of killing a god. The series focuses on Maro, a character caught up in this brutal conflict, who longs to break free from his master’s control.
RuneScape: Untold Tales of the God Wars #1 will be released on October 9, 2024. Every physical copy of the series will include a DLC code for 200 Runecoins to apply in-game. Pre-order links for all variant covers can be found below:
