The respected Jeux Vidéo magazine did something unusual, they published rumors about the upcoming game. They themselves conducted an investigation, and they did not rely on page three, and the game is currently the unannounced remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, the title that leaked again.
It seems that the remake that will apply the anvil pipeline engine will have quite a lot of changes. The most noteworthy change will be the removal of all newfangled sequences, so we will not see Rebbec, Shauna and others. The contemporary plot, which worked really well in the first few games with Desmond, was gradually moved to the side and appears as a text in the shade of Assassin. Replacing it will be “a few additional hours of content”, including content cut from the original edition, such as part of the history of Mary Read.
It is said that the game is closer to the RPG style of newer loot games, weapons statistics and a novel supply. It is also said that the fight is more bent in the style of recent games. The map has the same size, but it will have more things to do, and newfangled systems mean that there will be no charging screens when docking the ship and heading to the land.
The report suggests that the game will start now at the beginning of 2026, probably March, which is a little later than previous reports. Ubisoft Singapore, Belgrade and Bordeaux are working on it, and some of the skull and bone assets can be reused to save costs.
Finally, we should not expect a remake of the same level as Resident Evil 2, but better than a remaster.
