What if the 1980s were the starting point for the future? For example, was this year’s Fantastic Four movie a 1950s version of the future? Enter ROUTINE, the upcoming first-person sci-fi horror game set on a base on the Moon. Like all good horror movies, silence and loneliness are your worst enemies, and that’s the case in ROUTINE – except for the part where you discover an enemy who believes that the main threat is actually you. Put together the events that happened before your arrival and try to survive.
ROUTINE is our first IGN cover game for November, ahead of its December 4 launch on PC (Steam and Xbox for PC) and Xbox (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Xbox Cloud) – including Xbox Game Pass on day one. This first exclusive video (watch it above) introduces the CAT Ultraview module, a tool you’ll apply frequently while exploring the lunar base. It looks like the camera and radar gun had a baby and… you’ll have to watch the video to see what it does.
ROUTINE has quite a long development history, originally announced over a decade ago. It was revealed again in 2022, and earlier this year we finally played it for the first time. Stay tuned throughout November for more exclusive IGN First coverage. In the meantime, you can wish list If you’re interested, ROUTINE on Steam.
