A seven-time Grammy Award winner, capable of selling out some of the world’s biggest venues, a household name and a radio staple, Coldplay is expanding their already impressive reach by diving into the block world of Roblox to celebrate their upcoming album release. This is their first album of 2021, so the band clearly wanted to do something fun to start with – so why not choose a gaming platform that has almost 80 million users using it every day? The British rock band has collaborated GamefamWarner Music Group and Parlophone Records to bring you an stimulating cross-game adventure in four of Gamefam’s most beloved Roblox games. You’ll be able to play in collaboration with Car Dealership Tycoon, Tower of Misery, Starving Artists and Truly Easy Obby, where you’ll have the opportunity to listen to novel songs from the upcoming album Moon Music and complete exclusive challenges to unlock a collection of restricted Coldplay-themed UGC items to dress up your avatars .
“This unique partnership with Gamefam on Roblox provides the Coldplay community with an exciting, interactive environment in which to discover and experience the band’s tenth studio album, Moon Music,” says Rebecca Rees, Community Manager at Parlophone Records. “Coldplay’s music is about connection, and this is a great opportunity to bring people together across generational boundaries. The Roblox experience will provide an immersive adventure that reflects the spirit of the band’s music, so fans both old and new can feel a part of Coldplay’s journey.”
This multi-game mission includes some truly amazing music samples, as well as some freebies, because it wouldn’t be a Roblox event without something up for grabs. In Car Dealership Tycoon, you can unlock a Moon Music-themed electric car so you can feel like you’re in love as you cruise and collect Moon Music notebook drawings hidden throughout the city. You must complete the vertical obstacle course in Tower of Misery, jump across moon-shaped platforms and collect moon icons to earn the Coldplay crown.
At Starving Artists, Coldplay has taken over the art fair with exclusive Moon Music installations and album commemorative features, where you can test your skills by entering a limited-time fan art competition where you have to vote for your favorite Moon Music drawing. If you really manage to impress, you can get the Coldplay Heat Aura.
Finally, in “Really Easy Obby” you have to overcome obstacles and collect moons by passing through the obby, then you can listen to music from Coldplay’s latest album in the winner’s room using the novel Moongoggle glasses. If you complete all the challenges in all four games, you can earn the head – or head – of the Angle Moon Head for your avatar. Additionally, if you join Coldplay’s official Roblox group, you can earn the exclusive Moon Music Aura.
The event is free and runs until October 18, 2024, so you have plenty of time to grab the exclusive freebies that are up for grabs.
