He played the role of a burnt child killer with a razor blade glove who hunts children in their dreams to kill them Robert Englund in eight films and a television series. And while many would like to see him return to the role after the lackluster 2010 reboot, Englund says that’s not happening.
In a recent interview with Fucking disgustingThe 77-year-old horror star was asked if he had “one more” A Nightmare on Elm Street a movie in it. His answer was blunt but sincere: “No. Literally no.”
Englund further explained that he is “too old” to reprise his role as Freddy Krueger in a live-action sequel. However, he stated that he was open to doing some “gimmick” cameo and suggested a role he could play in a theoretical remake of ” A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3: Dream Warriors.
“I would love to be invited if they reboot part 3, Dream warriorswhich I think is the most popular film in the series,” Englund said Fucking disgusting.
“It would be cool to play one of the doctors. This film starred the great Priscilla Pointer, mother of Amy Irving. Maybe I could play her role as a male doctor, which is very cynical. A little wink to the audience that I don’t buy, that there’s this dream demon that everyone has the same dream about. “It’s a tradition in remakes, especially horror films, to give the original actor a petite cameo role, so I think that would be chilly.”
He also hinted that he might return to voicing Freddy for a “high-end animated version.” A Nightmare on Elm Streetsaying it “would be nice” to be asked. However, he reiterated that he is simply too old to play Freddy again in a live-action film.
