The uprising of Ronin on the PC made me guessed for all the wrong reasons. Don’t get me wrong, I love traveling systems that RPG RPG RPG RPG as much as the next guy. I like to be carried out in countless wild densities on fantastic lands with ambiguous historical grounding. And I am biased in layered combat systems, brutal combinations of struggle and enemies who scale in a challenging situation when I run more and more in waving a imitation wooden stick, clicking my real mouse at the right time. Of course, not COP in your mouth, of course.
What less is unpredictable performance problems. I am much less in love by FPS that a swinging between single and triple numbers faster than the family round of FEUDU, and I do not care about being forced to move in tardy motion in areas built, wading through the proverbial player from the era of Edo, simply because my screen is busy with NPC and search.
The Ninja team must be said, over the past few years has lit a great RPG trail. But the developer is also not foreign to faint PC ports in the same episode. And this means that Ronin’s recommendation on PC through a couple in the current state is challenging.
Smooth/criminal
I ended up in the interest of transparency and usually enjoyed Rise of the Ronin during the premiere at PS5 in March last year. For the most part, I knew what I got this time, except for the basic fear now a synonym for delayed pilgrimage of the DO-PC console, with which many have recently struggled.
Like Monster Hunter Wilds, after arrival, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and your own dynasty Team Ninja Long: Fallen Dynastia to mention only a few, Rise of the Ronin is another such victim of what can now be described only as an unwanted trend. To say, none of the above could be developed by Ronin’s peers, I was able to surprise me in the same way.
You see when Rise of the Ronin works smoothly, it’s a dream. With a limit of the number of frames of 120 at high settings, I did not go through his apartment adaptation of the characters and tutorials without a problem, which at various points includes switching between warriors in the middle fight, making a combination of stuff and macabre finishing movements, after which I masked on the roof with a quick hook.
Distinguished by my NVIDIA RTX 3060 GPU processor, the Intel Core i7-10875H processor and 16 GB of RAM, I tried to marry a collection of negative reviews related to performance that exists on the Steam website with my own experience, and apparently and clearly naively, I decided. (At the time of writing, Rise of the Ronin has a consensus of “mixed” reviews in the field of the Valve digital store, with 45% over 1300 reviews marked as positive).
Of course not. Because I barely planted my feet on a velvety wooden deck of the nineteenth -century navy ship Rise of the Ronin’s opening before everything turned into nonsense.
From half a dozen additional bodies on the screen, my characters suddenly moved in tardy motion. Call animations, audio immersed and immersed, as well as damaged texture, well, almost everything. I dropped the settings to the standard, and then ultimately to low to unsuccessful rain, when the rain broke on my two indifferent fights in something that resembled the Jailbreak scene in the redemption of Shawshank.
As if wading through the poisonous Dark Souls’ Blighttown swamps, I carefully approached the stairs of the ship just a few feet further and headed to the lower deck. I met with even more bad ones than before, my heart sank. And then, inexplicable, my performance rose.
I turned into a legend of war in Boshin with fists of fury and a wooden stick that was moving like a fly. I did the featherlight work of my aggressors and even brighter work of the FPS hat in rapid, silky velvety glow of glory. Quickly forward by 20 minutes, and I returned to optimization of Doldrums when I stared at a group of enraged swordsmen, whose leather shoes seemed super glued to the snowfield under the feet.
And so I spent time with Rise of the Ronin on the PC. Sublime one moment, amusing next and no less frustrating. It’s a shame, not only because he threatened me with this time with this version of the game, but because I am not an isolated example. He quickly solves the recorded problems, the publisher Koei Tecmo issued an update of results on the day of the premiere-day, on March 11-by “studying” reports and work on a patch, which aims to “repair or improve some of these problems.” At the time of writing, this writing is not yet to materialize, but it is worth noting that almost half of the Steam review is positive.
Light path
So, if you are able to persevere or you are among those who managed to avoid halter optimization problems, Ronin’s growth is not deprived of his charm. Formal is clear, but Riff at an compelling moment in Japanese history and is a joy for nomadic actions who, completed RPGs, like to comb the immense open worlds from the pillar to post.
In Rise of the Ronin, Era Shoganate entered the last Furlong during the bakumatsu period. You are planted in the mid -nineteenth century on Yokohama (later visiting Edo and Kyoto) as a member of the Edge veiled resistance group, who tries to overthrow Shogunate.
In its most basic form, this is associated with obtaining villages of unwanted bandits, increasing the regional bond with this area, as you go, and tearing the food from these perceived altruistic projects. Karma can be converted into skill points and used in banner checkpoints to raise your strength, charm, dexterity and intellectual skill trees, as well as for each ARPG worth salt, it helps to define the features and style of combat.
The latter is particularly vital because hiding Rise of the Ronin, although possible, is quite non -existent as a result of an oblivious enemy, which may as well be deaf to the world around them. In turn, the most satisfying sense of prize is obtained from the mastering of three basic combat styles – Jin, Chi and this – on a bike between them from the cuff, as every combat scenario commands.
Like the Nioh Team Ninja series, KI is the durability of a different name and must be managed every time you close the corners with enemies. Only with a sufficient number of ki in the tank can you hope to break an enemy’s attitude or a brutal, overwhelmed removal. What’s more, Counterspark, Rise of the Ronin’s Parrying, will facilitate to force windows for these breaks in guards and cinema executions – so when all this is sophisticated, Rise of the Ronin can sometimes feel such an ARPG rhythm game.
This is also not bad because the following moments of Eureka At last overcoming a steadfast boss at the end of the zone due to quick cunning and mouse clicks-seeing when to reach for Shuriken above the arch; Musques above the sword; Grapping hook over the rifle – is second to none. This sense of achievement is even more strengthened, the deeper you enter the narrative of the game, and the more bonds you create with appropriate NPCs, which in turn offer valuable items, novel styles of learning to learn, and unique Unite attacks, with which you can experiment after pairing in the battle.
Ronin Moanin ‘
Of course, it doesn’t mean that if performance problems prevent you from playing and experiencing. There are many people again who also say they were doing well. If I thought they were exaggerating, I just wouldn’t comment, but the fact that my own experience with Rise of the Ronin on the PC made me guessing so much, everything seems quite good. Ultimately, it seems that most people have so far encountered the same or similar problems I have done, and simply unacceptable to pay players.
Regardless of whether the expected patch fixes things, the difference between such a game and, say, Monster Hunter Wilds lies in the fact that this is only the best games that are able to buy back and fully bounce.
I am not completely convinced that people are sufficiently ensuring Ronin to make it happen, and I have the impression that the damage has already been caused here. In any case, the latest PC Team Ninja has been excluded from the conversation for now. And that I Power Say for sure.
