Ride 6 has been announced and is scheduled to premiere on February 12

Milestone announced Ride 6, with the goal of getting the game across the finish line and into players’ hands by February 12. Ride 6 adds a fresh Ride Fest career mode that is designed to take inspiration from the Forza Horizon games, but players will choose from 10 real-world drivers to compete in the festival, including Casey Stoner, Troy Bayliss and Guy Martin.

Ride 6 will feature a vast roster of 340 bikes, although some of them will be part of DLC packs. These bikes will cover 21 manufacturers and seven categories, including Bagger and Maxi Enduro bikes. The game was created using Unreal Engine 5, which allowed Milestone to add a fresh dual physics system. It is divided into a Pro version for players who want to jump straight into the Ride 6 simulation, and an Arcade version for players who just want to ride without having to fiddle with the various parts of the bike too much. Riding School will allow players to learn different parts of the game and complete challenges, and Ride 6 will also support cross-platform cross-play. Split-screen multiplayer and race creator will not be available at Ride 6 launch, but will be available later.

Ride 5 was the last game in the series, due out in 2023, but we didn’t review it. However, Stefan reviewed Ride 4 saying: “A fairly comprehensive and solid entry in the Milestone series, Ride 4 represents an equally versatile and solid leap into the next generation. There is no longer any need to sacrifice resolution and performance as PS5 is capable of giving the game its best appearance, but it’s a really smart take on the use of DualSense touch elements and adaptive triggers that will enhance the experience.”

Ride 6 will be available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series XS.
