Rhythm Master Viral Hit Trombone Champ Gets Sidetracked on PSVR2 This Fall

Published:

We had hope The Trombone Master coming to PS5 ever since we first learned about it, and it’s finally happening — but not quite in the way we expected. Holy Wow Studios and Flat2VR Studios have announced Trombone Champ: Unflattened, a virtual reality adaptation of the viral rhythm title coming to PSVR2 later this year.

Unflattened is a “new” version of Trombone Champ that takes the game experience to the world of virtual reality. Instead of playing a trombone on a two-dimensional plane, the player takes on the role of a trombone player and tries to hit notes that are approaching them from a first-person perspective.

The game features 50 songs to play, different trombones to unlock, customization options, and collectible cards full of trombone lore. It looks like a pretty good interpretation of Trombone Champ; although we would never have thought of it, VR fits the game quite well.
