Redmagic 10 Pro review – ‘The budget gaming phone worth having’

Published:

I was very excited when I first heard about the Redmagic 10 Pro launch, so as soon as I got my hands on it, I started looking into every little feature to find out if it was worth all the hype – and in this Redmagic10 Pro Review, you’ll read all about it All.

Let’s get straight to the exhilarating stuff!

Redmagic 10 Pro Features

In terms of features, I took the Redmagic 9S Pro as a point of comparison. In miniature, although they look similar, the 10 Pro feels MUCH better and performs in a league of its own. But I’ll talk more about it below.

  • Efficiency: Snapdragon 8 Elite and RedCore 3 chips, AnTuTu score 3,291,328
  • Display: 6.85 inch FHD+, 144 Hz refresh rate, 2000 nits peak brightness, 2500 Hz touch sampling rate
  • Battery: 7050mAh with dual-cell design for longer gameplay
  • Cooling: Advanced ICE X liquid metal cooling system, 11-layer structure and 23,000 rpm turbo fan for rapid heat dissipation
  • Design: Flat, limpid back with RGB lighting and ergonomic handle
  • Artificial intelligence and gamingOS: Google Gemini integration, REDMAGIC OS 10.0 with improved gaming UI, real-time translation, image-to-text and knowledgeable assistance

Other features

  • Dual large-size 0815 X-axis linear motors with 4D vibration ensure immersive gameplay
    experience
  • Dual 1115K speakers and three built-in microphones, DTS
  • Ultra certified, delivering full-range 3D audio enhanced by Qualcomm Snapdragon technology
  • 16 Mpix front camera and two rear Samsung cameras: Samsung GN5 50
Main MP camera with OIS optical image stabilization, 7P lens and anti-glare function with APL coating, and Samsung JN1 50 MP ultra-wide camera with optimized distortion correction algorithm.
  • NFC for contactless payments, data sharing and transfer, and device pairing.

In terms of performance, it offers some of the smoothest gameplay I’ve ever had

Most of us have a favorite game that eventually ends with the phone overheating and crashing. Well, I’ve tried a million on the Redmagic 10 Pro and not one of them managed to overheat or crash it.

I started with Cookie Run Kingdom, which, while quite “behind” in terms of graphics quality, requires a lot to run. If you know, you know. I mean, there was a joke going around on Reddit saying that if you’re frigid in the winter, just fire up Cookie Run Kingdom on your phone and you’ve got a heating device.

CRK didn’t cause this phone to overheat at all, which really impresses me.

Next up is Genshin Impact: This one is known for not working well on some phones, but that’s no problem for me!

Finally, I decided to try two games that I was having difficulty with: GRID Autosport and Alien: Isolation. There is no problem with working at maximum graphics, and the phone doesn’t even break a sweat. I have nothing else to do but praise and admire.

The integrated cooling fan likely played a role in this

Since everything I was running was putting quite a lot of stress on the GPU, I had to hand it over to the cooling system integrated into the device. It’s a work of art and although it activates automatically, you can customize it in the Settings menu. You can also launch Game Space, add your favorite RPG or puzzle game there, and let the phone’s integrated AI do the rest.

This is just brilliant no matter how you look at it.

Redmagic 10 Pro isn’t just a gaming phone – it’s also a great everyday phone

Let’s put aside the gaming stuff for a moment and talk about what makes this phone stand out from other phones on the market.

As regular people, we all need to communicate, exploit social media, watch videos, and sometimes even work on our phones. Well, in this particular case, you can do all of that and not have to worry about it running out of battery or putting too much strain on your CPU or GPU.

For example, I often split the screen and run a game on one half, and exploit the other half to send texts, browse social media, or even check in on work (admittedly, my laptop is much worse in this respect than my phone, which is why I used from the phone).

All in all, you can multitask with ease – you can watch videos and enjoy exceptional sound quality (maybe it’s just me, but I think it’s better compared to the previous model), and even take Instagram-worthy photos.

The camera performs very well in daylight, but is slightly weaker at night

There are a few features that aren’t as good as I expected, but they still exceed my expectations. If you’ve read my previous reviews, you’ll know that my main phone was the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate. I really couldn’t take great photos and thought, “It’s probably because it’s a gaming phone.” Well, on Redmagic 10 Pro, the camera takes really great photos and it doesn’t affect the gaming features at all.

In daylight, all the photos you take can be published in Discovery Magazine – they’re that good (if you’re a good photographer, of course. I suck). The macro function, panoramic view and everything else are in place.

However, at night some of this quality will drop. I mean, I kind of expected it, so for me personally it wasn’t a huge disappointment. Don’t get me wrong, it still takes great photos. It’s just that they are not as high quality as those made during the day.

Has the front camera improved?

In my 9S Pro review I complained about the front camera and I see some improvements in this model!

It’s still not a camera for taking high-resolution photos, but it will get the job done. I can’t get over the fact that it still has a beauty filter that you have to turn off if you want to look even remotely realistic, but hey – it’s a feature, not a bug, right?

Battery life for several days!

Battery life is key when it comes to gaming phones, and on the Redmagic 10 Pro it’s there and lasts up to 52 hours in standby mode. I will add – it lasts quite a long time, even if you play several hours a day (like I do with all my daily work), and if I were to take it 100%, I would still end up with between 80-90%.

I can’t express how good this is because you can charge your phone two to three times a week with this dual 7050mAh battery. Of course, this varies depending on how often you exploit it, but generally speaking, you can safely exploit it for two days without needing a charger. At least that was my case.

And finally, this phone looks amazing!

I can’t lend a hand but mention the design details of this phone. In addition to the RGB color cooler, the back of the phone has a sleek look and plenty of details that will make you want to put a case on it – ever.

On the front of the phone, the screen-to-body ratio is 95.3%, and the front camera is integrated with a seamlessly integrated camera that doesn’t break away from the screen at all. I am very impressed with the design of the Redmagic 10 Pro and everyone who has seen me exploit it has been too.

You can buy Redmagic 10 Pro at Redmagic official websiteand costs $649 for the Shadow version (12+256 GB) or $799 for the Moonlight and Dusk versions (16+512 GB).
