- Puzzle Maniac is an upcoming indie project for mobile devices
- Solve over ten different puzzles to save the princess
- Relatively uncomplicated, but not shallow. Is this another local success story?
Puzzles, puzzles, puzzles. With so many puzzle games out there, you’d think we’d be a society of geniuses by now. But it seems like some people are putting all their intelligence into playing Candy Crush instead of, say, building a rocket. Still, there’s no better time than now for another game to jump into the arena, and today’s topic is the upcoming indie project Puzzle Maniac.
Puzzle Maniac is best described as uncomplicated but engaging. It’s not the most polished game, nor is it the most in-depth. But what it lacks in those aspects, it makes up for in passion and a sort of pseudo-retrospective early 2000s puzzle feel, though admittedly even that feels overshadowed by some of the AI-generated art assets.
There is some good, human-made content here, though. With ten different puzzles to play and likely many more variations, there is plenty of variety. Puzzle Maniacs is currently in pre-alpha, and the developer has reached out to us to show off the game, with a release planned for November of this year.
I’m not sure
Of course, we wouldn’t publish this if we didn’t have the chance to at least check it out. So if the trailer didn’t grab you, be sure to check out the demo on itch.io game pagewhere you can download the APK and try it for free. Who knows? Maybe in a few months we will be reporting on the huge success of Puzzle Maniac.
