Listen, we all love a cute, cozy game. Right? Sometimes it’s nice to just kick back and enjoy the fluffy visuals, pliable pinks and murky scenery, pliable music, and nothing to stress about. It’s one of the best ways to enjoy video games. On the other end of the spectrum, you can also slaughter countless enemies in a shower of blood and defeat an entire lobby to emerge victorious from the battlefield. That might be your version of cute and cozy. But what if you combine the two? PUBG Mobile Version Maybe one day I’ll do just that.
PUBG Mobile is a crazy battle royale game where the goal is to eliminate as many players as possible with as many powerful weapons as you can get your hands on, all in an effort to claim the winner, a chicken dinner, and be the last player standing. The gameplay can range from fast-paced shooter to tactical stealth, and like most online multiplayer games, it’s a matter of life or death. So sweet, it doesn’t pop into your subconscious when you think of PUBG Mobile, and that’s okay. But it would be compelling if it did.
We’re here at Gamescom 2024 and we asked PUBG’s production director, Taehyun Kim, if he could add absolutely anything to the game, without any restrictions, what would that be? The immediate response was to make PUBG cute, “to make a very cute version of PUBG that balances between the skill of the game and the gameplay. So the art and visuals are pretty cute, but the gameplay is hardcore.” A juxtaposition of the hardcore gameplay that PUBG is known for, but mixed with cute art and visuals. Now that we think about it, we’d like to see that too.
Genre mash-ups are always stimulating in any art form, but especially in video games. There are tons of genre-bending titles out there that push the boundaries, and we’d love PUBG Mobile to be one of them. Who wouldn’t want to dash through lush fields with a blushing sunset in the background and soothing music in your ears while you punch someone in the face with a frying pan? Imagine normally armored vehicles turning into adorable little flying carpets, or even cozy clouds that you can rest on until you float to your next battle. Sweet and tumultuous? We’re on board.
While we’re hoping for a cute and cuddly LTM in PUBG Mobile’s future, there are plenty of games that are already bending the rules. Miss Delight from Poppy Playtime is technically cute, right? We personally think Chica from FNAF is adorable, and during our Gori: Cuddly Carnage interview, we talked about the joys of killing waves of enemies and then being able to pet a kitty in the main menu to relax. Who says battle royale can’t be cute?
