Prime members can now get a pair of great Lord of the Rings games for free

If you are looking forward to the modern season Rings of Power — or if you’re looking for an alternative way to satisfy your love of Tolkien — you should definitely check out the free games available to Amazon Prime members this month. You can get both through September 30 Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition and Lego Lord of the Rings for free. Simply go to the appropriate Prime Gaming page and you will receive a code that you can utilize GOG.com to get a free copy of each. For your convenience, we have included links to both titles below, along with several other excellent companion titles that you can get with Amazon Prime Subscription this month.

Original open world Lord of the Rings game, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is an uncomplicated recommendation for fans of the Assassin’s Creed series or similar immersive simulators. This original story takes place before the events of Lord of the Rings it features a long list of talented voice actors, including Matthew Mercer, Troy Baker, Jennifer Hale, John DiMaggio, and many others.

This 2014 title may be a bit dated, but the gameplay remains solid, and the lower system requirements make it playable on Steam Deck (via a third-party launcher) or other portable gaming PCs. The GOTY Edition comes with all the DLC available for download after launch and currently costs $19.99 on Steam, but Prime members can add the title to their GOG library for free.

Somehow, the creators at Traveller’s Tales have managed to inject the signature wit and charm of their Lego titles into a series that takes itself almost too seriously. Lego The Lord of the Rings offers the familiar co-op gameplay of the Lego games, based on Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, complete with voices from the original cast. The title currently costs $19.99 on Steam, but Amazon Prime members can pick it up for free.

In addition to the two standout titles based on Tolkien’s series, Amazon Prime members can get up to two dozen other free games through September and beyond. We encourage you to check out full list titles, but we’ve picked out a few that we think are definitely worth adding to your library before they disappear.
