Well, it’s been just over a week since the release of Ghost of Yotei – one of the most anticipated titles of 2025 for us here at PlayStation Nation (sorry, we really need to stop writing this).
Yotei, the sequel to the beloved Ghost of Tsushima, takes place hundreds of years after Jin Sakai’s adventures, but it doesn’t attempt to rediscover the already solid foundations left by its predecessor.
This is something you can name multiple a sequel that builds and expands on existing systems and mechanics – although, as creator Sucker Punch mentioned many times before its release, Yotei is trying to be much more open.
In terms of player freedom, it’s definitely much more than what Tsushima offers, which is partly why the game received such positive reviews.
Our own Ghost of Yotei review on PS5 concludes: “Building right on its predecessor, Ghost of Yotei is an incredible sequel that makes you the master of your experience.”
He continues: “With improved combat, a better story, and unique use of PS5 features, Sucker Punch has outdone itself and created a sequel for the ages. Ghost of Yotei is undoubtedly his greatest work to date.” A fully deserved 9/10.
