The Pokémon Company announced today that it will open a Pokémon theme park in Tokyo next year. PokéPark KANTO will be the first enduring indoor outdoor attraction in the monster-catching series Yomiurilandthe largest theme park in Tokyo.

As shown in the concept video shared on Pokémon’s official X account below, PokéPark brings games to life by allowing customers to take on the role of trainers.

Naturally, three Kanto starters will appear in the entrance square: Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle (seen here how to get them in Pokemon Legends ZAin case you were wondering). The park is divided into two areas, the Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town. The Pokémon Forest will be a forested trail with varied terrain where visitors will be able to see various Pokémon statues. Sedge Town will feature attractions such as the Vee Vee Voyage carousel, a Pokémon Center with merchandise, a Trainer’s Mart offering park-exclusive snacks, and the Sedge Gym, where you can watch a performance on stage (complete with a dancing Pikachus). There will also be a Pokémon meet and greet and a Pokémon parade. Overall, the park will feature over 600 Pokémon.

PokéPark previously existed in Nagoya (Japan) and Taiwan in 2005 and 2006, respectively. However, these were ephemeral and short-lived attractions. PokePark Kanto brings back the format with a enduring theme park.

PokéPark KANTO will open on February 5, 2026. From November 21 this year, tickets to the park will be sold by lottery. The Ace Trainer Pass allows free access to the Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town areas, and also provides additional benefits such as priority access to attractions, reserved seats to the Sedge Gym show, meet and greets, and original merchandise. The Trainer Pass gives you unlimited access to Sedge Town, but gives you a time slot to the Pokémon Forest. In the future, there are also plans to make the ticket available exclusively to the town of Sedge. More information can be found on the website official website.

In other countries, video game-inspired theme parks have opened in recent years. Universal Studios Japan in Osaka has Super Nintendo World, which has added a novel one Donkey Kong Country area last year. In the United States, there is a Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Epic Universe, with another larger one scheduled to open at Universal Orlando Resort. Minecraft theme parks they are also scheduled to open in the US and UK in 2026–2027.
