Pokémon TCG Pocket kicks off Part 2 of the Wonder Pick event today

Published:

Today, December 13, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket launched the second part of the Bulbasaur and Magnemite Wonder Pick event, adding fresh tasks and rewards to the digital card game.

Players can now find five fresh items in the Limited Time/Event Shop, including a Venusaur board, T-shirts, a coin and an icon, as well as 10 shots of 50 Shinedustu.

All of this can be purchased with tickets in the Venusaur Event Shop, available again with additional Wonderful Choices and tons of fresh added missions. Quests provide rewards for collecting Wonders from one to seven times, for collecting five types of Grass, for collecting five types of Lightning, and for collecting a total of 15 Diamond (Common) cards.

This is the second Wonder Pick event added to Pokémon TCG Pocket by developer Creatures Inc. and if it has the same model as the first Meowth-themed one, the second week will be its last.

Pokémon TCG Pocket appeared on October 30 and became a hit for Creatures Inc. and The Pokémon Company, which grossed approximately $200 million in its first month with over 60 million downloads.

This huge amount of money comes as Pokémon TCG Pocket follows the standard model of mobile and free-to-play games, flooding players with rewards in the first few days before they soon desiccated up, and spending real money is the only real way to relive that early thrill.

Completing Genetic Apex, the first card set that officially has 226 cards but also includes 60 occasional cards with alternate art, is estimated to take players spending no money for about two years, while those looking to make it rain will be able to complete the collection after dropping around $1,500.

The next set is also just around the corner as Creatures Inc. revealed that a themed set led by Mew called Mythical Island will be released on December 17. Theme sets are smaller than full boosters like Genetic Apex, and this debut contains over 80 cards, including five Formers, five Trainers, and at least two Immersion cards.
