Pikachu and his friends won the prize Pokémon World Recordentering the Guinness Book of Records for “longest unboxing live broadcast.” The Pokémon Company International (TPCI) has teamed up with 30 content creators from across Europe to make the album possible and celebrate the release of the latest Pokémon TCG expansion, Surging Sparks.
Whether you play the TCG or not, we all know the joy of opening a pack of Pokémon cards. Now imagine this feeling, but for over 24 hours and with strengthening packages worth PLN 1.5 thousand. Thus, TPCI earned its name in the prestigious Guinness Book of Records for the longest live unboxing broadcast. In addition to revealing over 20,000 cards from Surging Sparks, the latest TCG expansion following the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLCs, content creators showed off a slew of novel Pokémon plushies, clothing, and holiday gifts during the stream.
Of course, no one person needs that many Pokémon cards, so thousands of cards featured in the livestream will be donated to charities such as Barnado’s in the UK in carefully selected binders. Peter Murphy, senior director of marketing at The Pokémon Company International, said: “It’s been an incredible 24 hours since opening the pack and we’re thrilled to have achieved such an ambitious Guinness World Records title with an amazing team of content creators.”
In Surging Sparks, you’ll find plenty of powerful dragon-type Pokémon, such as Alolan Exeggutor ex, as well as the multi-type Stellar Tera Pokémon, which can be found in the Blueberry Academy Terrarium. As usual, there are also plenty of great cards with alternate art, including one particular electric mouse that everyone wants to get their hands on.
