With today’s launch, Pokémon Legends: ZA DLC Mega Dimension adventures on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 have received an update to version 2.0.0 – along with a list of brand modern Mega Pokémon evolutions.
Nintendo previously showed off several modern Mega Dimension Mega Evolutions, but also held back many of them for players to find while exploring the game or, inevitably, discover online once the update was immediately collected.
Mega Dimension is adding a modern story campaign to Pokémon Legends: ZA, featuring Donut Chef and the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa. Notably, it takes players to a hyperspatial version of Lumiose City, where it’s possible to exceed the series’ typical level 100 cap. However, for many, the main attraction will be collecting all the modern Mega Evolutions in the series.
We’ll leave details about the modern Mega Pokémon species below in spoiler tags for those who want to discover them through gameplay ahead of the game’s latest patch notes.
For now, they look like the last additions that will likely arrive in Pokémon’s ninth-generation era, before the franchise moves into the highly anticipated 10th generation of games, which fans expect to be released next year, in line with Pokémon’s overall 30th anniversary.
That said, the latest trailer for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 spin-off Pokémon Pokopia featured some compelling designs, including a pale Pikachu named Peakychu and an oversized Snorlax named Mosslax. The exact nature of these designs has yet to be determined, and fans are currently divided on whether they are one-off variants or entirely modern regional forms.
Either way, for now we have everything to look forward to in Mega Dimension, which is now available to play.
