Pokémon Legends: ZA Mega Dimension DLC debuts Mega Zeraora, though unlocking it ‘will be a bit arduous’

Published:

Fan-favorite Pokémon Zeraora will gain a Mega Evolution in the upcoming Pokémon Legends: ZA Mega Dimension DLC. However, a recent trailer revealing the creature’s design warns that it may be arduous to unlock.

Today’s trailer shows off the newest, all-new Mega Evolution, which Pokémon Legends: ZA owners will have to pay another $30 for, bringing the total outlay to $100 for the game and its DLC on Switch 2. The upcoming expansion was first announced with two Mega Evolutions for Raichu, though much more is also expected.

Mega Zeraora, which gives the black and gold electric cat species a recent, wilder, blue-tinted look, will apparently need some work.

“It looks like getting Mega Zeraora for your team will be a bit difficult,” reads the trailer description. “Keep your eyes peeled to meet him while playing the DLC!”

The base game of Pokémon Legends: ZA already blocks access to certain Mega Evolution species, requiring players to log in and battle online over time, with several previously announced creatures still yet to be made available. It is currently unclear whether Mega Zeraora will be similarly time-limited, or whether it will be unlocked later in the DLC story.

“The electricity he stores in his body is equivalent to 10 lightning bolts,” Mega Zeraor’s official blurb reads. “The protrusions on his forehead, chest, back, and the back of his hands are where the electricity is particularly concentrated. The protrusions constantly emit a pale blue light. If Zeraora gathers a lot of energy and then launches attacks, these attacks will have enough power to defeat multiple nearby opponents at once.”

ZA’s previous Mega Dimension DLC trailer debuted the Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur designs. Fans looking into the game’s files believe that a dozen or so other species will also be included.

The Mega Dimension DLC for Pokémon Legends: ZA is scheduled to be released on December 10.
