During today’s Pokémon gifts, we saw a lot of novel materials from Pokémon Legends: Za, including a completely novel mega evolution. But for the nerds of knowledge, the official, confirmed appearance of a very popular character from our adventure in Pokémon X and Y. was much more intriguing. And yes, I will spoil it for you below this movie, so do not scroll if you do not want to know.
If you have seen today’s trailer, you will learn that this is not a enormous spoiler: Emma from Pokémon X and Y, it is officially confirmed for Pokémon Legends: Za. Emma has been part of the speculation of fans since the game’s announcement, and theories about her presence in time have multiplied.
In some context, Emma is a teenage girl in X and Y who is adopted and trained by a looker, a detective in Lumiose City, who became a favorite character after many performances. At the end of the 10th and y, the looker effectively transfers the keys to his office look for Emma. We have already seen that the office appears in this futuristic Lumiose, so it makes sense that Emma will run it. What’s more, her project suggests that she is still running around the city as a fight against Essentia crime, based on her outfit under her jacket.

To say that, the presence of Emma begs a few questions. When exactly is Pokémon Legends: for the set? We don’t know! Emma is definitely older in her appearance, but probably not so older that there would be time to basically rebuild Lumiose from scratch, from its aesthetics X and Y to a futuristic city appearing in ZA.
Were there Shenanigans traveling in time? Is this Emma’s daughter, also named Emma? Probably not the latter. Maybe the inhabitants of the Kalos region are simply really, very quickly in building cities.

It is also worth noting that during today’s trailer another familiar face from X and Y appeared, although maybe slightly less recognizable. If you noticed Mable, the novel director of Pokémon Research Lab, you may have decided that he was a member of the Flare team. She is not entirely the most moral of people in X and Y, so it will be intriguing to check whether she has been reformed since then or in the research laboratory something distasteful is happening.
During today’s trailer there were different disclosures, including completely novel characters, such as Naveen, Lida and Urbain or Tauna. We also saw a completely novel mega evolution, Mega Dragonite. Pokémon Legends: He arrives at Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch on October 16, 2025.
