Pokémon Go organizes the Tynamo Community Day event July 21st from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time.
As expected for the Community Day event, Tynamo will appear in huge amounts with a high chance of being shiny. There are also a few other bonuses and perks that we have listed below.
How to catch shiny Tynamo?
According to senior research conducted by the now defunct website The Silph Road (via Wayback Machine), the shiny Pokémon rate during Community Days is around 1 in 24, meaning that if you play throughout the entire three-hour period, you should find quite a few shiny Pokémon.
If you’re tiny on time or Poké Balls, you can jump out Incenseand then quickly touch every Tynamo to check the shiny ones, running away from the non-shiny ones. Interestingly, any Tynamo you’ve already touched will be facing the direction your player is facing, so this should facilitate identify which ones you may have already checked.
What move does the Tynamo evolution learn during Community Day?
If you evolve Eelektrik into Eelektros between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM local time, it will learn brisk move Voltage switch.
If you miss the opportunity to evolve it during this period, you will likely be able to do so during the Community Day weekend event in December to earn the Volt Switch. If you don’t want to wait, you can employ Elite TM to earn the move.
How is Eelektross doing in the meta?
When it comes to raids and gyms, Eelektross isn’t great. It’s worse than Ultra Beast Xurkitree, Legendaries like Zekrom and Thundurus, and Megas like Ampharos and Manectric. Even if you don’t have Legendaries, Megas, and Shadows, Pokémon like Electivire, Magnezone, and Luxray deal more damage than Eelektross.
When it comes to PvP, there are many types of electric weapons that are superior to Eelektross, so they are not worth investing in.
How to make the most of Tynamo Community Day?
During Tynamo Community Day the following bonuses will be energetic:
- 1⁄4 hatching distance of eggs placed in incubators during the event
- Double Candy for Catching Pokémon
- Doubled chance for level 31+ Trainers to earn XL Candy by catching Pokémon
- The incense lasts for three hours
- Bait modules last for three hours
- Tynamo gets into trouble while taking pictures
- One additional special trade
- Stardust trade cost halved
With that said, you should definitely put your eggs in an incubator, crack open the incense, and try to catch some of the mighty Tynamo.
if you can Mega Evolution Ampharos or Manectricfor each catch you will receive additional Tynamo candies.
In addition to all of this, Niantic is still running special four-star raids from 5pm to 10pm, where if you complete the Eelektrik raid, Tynamo will spawn within a 300-meter radius around the gym for 30 minutes. These raids cannot be completed remotely. If the usual augment in spawns from 2pm to 5pm doesn’t get you the Tynamo you want, you can try the raid for another chance.
