If you’re suddenly unable to log into your PlayStation account on your PS4 or PS5, don’t worry, you’re not the only one. Sony has posted a notification warning people that the PlayStation Network is having some issues that are also affecting online gaming and the PlayStation Store.
According to Sony websiteThe problems started at around 7:46am PST / 10:46am EST / 3:46pm UK time. So if you were planning on buying any digital games or enjoying online multiplayer, you’ll unfortunately have to cancel those plans until Sony can fix this.
Not everyone seems to be affected though. I just tested it myself and everything works fine on my end. However, there are reports on-line from those who can confirm their network is down. As of this writing, Sony has no ETA on when the issue will be resolved, saying only that it will be done “as soon as possible” and asking PlayStation users to be patient.
As for what exactly is affected, the network issues mean you may not be able to log in to or manage your account, launch certain games, access PlayStation Video content, or purchase items from the PlayStation Store. Hopefully, you have some offline games that don’t require an internet connection to play while you’re hanging out. If you decide to do something other than exploit your PlayStation while the network is down, it’s worth keeping an eye on social media for any notifications from Sony or other players about the network coming back online.
