If you’ve been on the fence about which PlayStation 5 console to buy and ultimately decided to pass on the PS5 Pro – either because of the price or because you couldn’t get your hands on the exceptionally stunning 30th Anniversary Edition in time – this is the slimmed-down version in both cases the PS5 digital edition is available for sale Amazon AND Objective for $399.99 (was $449.99) ahead of its October launch, while the standard PS5 console with disc drive will retail for $449.99 (was $499.99). (You will need Prime Minister of Amazon Or Target circle membership to take advantage of these offers). While $50 isn’t the biggest discount, it’s the lowest price of any up-to-date PS5 console currently available, making it a great starting point and still allowing you to play the full catalog of titles for now and the foreseeable future.
The PlayStation 5 is a slimmer, redesigned version that replaced the original model around this time last year, and the price of the digital version has increased by $50. This Prime Day/Target Circle Week sale in early October brings the starting price back to under $400. Please note that while there is no disc drive included with the digital version – sorry, you can’t play the Blu-ray out of the box – you can later purchase the drive separately as an attachment for $79.99 from Amazon and other retailers.
It’s a great time to pick up a PlayStation 5, which comes with a library of amazing games and a solid ecosystem of accessories. And we won’t be worrying too much about the PlayStation 6 any time soon – by all estimates, that’s still many years away.
