All of these games are now available on Switch (and other platforms) digitally. But this is the first time they will be available in the US in physical form.

Final Fantasy VII was a major release in 1997, and it was the first time the series debuted on a non-Nintendo platform. The plot focuses on former SOLDIER Cloud Strife, who, together with a team of freedom fighters, fights the evil Shinra corporation. This version of the game includes a 3x speed mode, the ability to turn off random encounters, and a “battle enhancement mode”.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is an improved version of the game that was released on PS1 in 1999. The plot shows Squall and the rest of the SeeD members fighting against the sorceress Edea, who is causing quite a stir around the world. This version of the game offers various combat assist options, a 3x speed boost, and the ability to turn off random encounters.

When it was first released in 2000, Final Fantasy IX was something of a throwback to the medieval settings of the first six installments of the series. In this game, the fate of Zidane and a group of actors “kidnapped” Princess Garnet, who secretly wanted to be kidnapped to escape from her mad mother, the queen.

The graphics have been slightly renovated to look better on current displays. It also includes other recent features, including autosave and seven game boosters, including high-speed and no-encounter modes.
