Here are ways to get early access to Path of Exile 2:
- ON PS5 AND Xbox Series X|Spay $30 on launch day
- ON computerpay $30 if you didn’t spend more than $480 in your first game
If you want to play Path of Exile 2 on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, you can access the Early Access version with a $30 purchase from each console’s digital store. This feature will go live on December 6, 2024, at the times listed in the section above.
For PC gamers, gaining access will depend on how much money you spent on the first Path of Exile game. In a rather compelling twist, if you spend $480 or more on microtransactions and in-game currency in the original game, you’ll gain free early access access to Path of Exile 2.
If you spent less or nothing at all, the $30 purchase is the cheapest option to play the game. The developer also offers more pricey PC versions that include both physical and digital elements. You can check them out via link.
When will Path of Exile 2 be fully released?
A release date for the full release of Path of Exile 2 version 1.0 has not yet been announced. The early access version will be available on December 6, 2024, and considering the time the first game spent in open beta, we can expect it will be almost a year before version 1.0 arrives. Path of Exile was first released to the public in January 2013 as an open beta, with the full version released 10 months later in October 2013.
If these dates translate into a sequel, we can expect the full release of Path of Exile 2 in early 2026. However, the amount of time games spend in Early Access can vary greatly, so there are no guarantees.
What content will be available in Path of Exile 2 in Early Access?
Even in Early Access, Grinding Gears Games describes Path of Exile 2 as a “great game.” When Early Access launches, the following will be available:

- 6 character classes (Warrior, Sorceress, Hunter, Monk, Mercenary and Witch)
- 50 bosses
- Over 400 types of monsters
- Skill gem system
- Passive skill tree
- 7 endgame modes
