Hiroyuki Kotani, producer of PATAPON, has partnered with Tokyo Virtual Theory to announce RATATAN. RATATAN is a rhythm-based roguelike game in which players operate instruments and the rhythmic rhythm of music to fight enemies. The game has been confirmed to release in 2025 and will be released on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series XS, and Switch.
The roguelike element of RATATAN comes from the fact that after each battle, players are rewarded with various upgrades and rewards that change with each round. These upgrades and rewards are awarded to the little Cobuns that accompany the Ratatan and can be used in the various trials and battles they face. Ratatans also have their own unique abilities that will require players to switch between them to tackle various puzzles.
Game Source Entertainment, a Hong Kong-based publisher, will publish RATATAN.
