  • Experience the side-scrolling strategy of Kingdom, with even more depth

One of my more favorite cross-platform releases on mobile and PC is none other than Kingdom. The mix of gorgeous graphics, elementary yet challenging strategic gameplay, and the endless pleasure of building a kingdom always makes it a pleasure to come back to. But where Kingdom sometimes falls low, Parabellum: Siege of Legends excels.

Now available for sale on iOS and Android. If you’ve played the aforementioned Kingdom, you’re probably familiar with most of what Parabellum has to offer. You play as the leader of a kingdom in a 3D 2D universe, building your defenses and infrastructure, slowly recruiting units, fending off enemies and preparing for an all-out counterattack.

However, Parabellum builds on the foundation laid by Kingdom in a up-to-date and quite fascinating way. First, there’s a greater emphasis on stories, quests, and actual strategy beyond the elementary “don’t let the monsters get to your defenses” that defined the Kingdom.

If you want peace…

In Parabellum you play as several different characters from three different nations. Be it the Highlands, the Sultanate of Basse-Terre or the Land of Ice. You will build armies and go out to complete quests and conquer these lands to fulfill the prophecy that one woman will unite them as queen.

One of my issues with Kingdom has always been that while it’s great fun, it can become just as much fun after a while. Parabellum seems to solve this problem by offering a much denser plot, more varied buildings and units, while retaining aspects such as the characters and their various abilities.

But this isn’t the only strategy game available today. So if you’re craving more ways to demonstrate your strategic acumen, why not come and check out our list of the best Android strategy games so you can conquer the world?
