3D Realms and Anshar Studio announced that Painkiller will receive Roguelike mode called Rogue Angel, on the day of the start of the game. This recent mode is separate from the story mode and will take the players to the Purgatory area, in which the levels are generated procedural in which the boss mixture is located. Players will be able to collect weapons, tarot cards and items when they progress through the levels to take up the challenges that will introduce themselves.

The story of Painkiller puts you in Purgatory, where you had a chance to buy back after crossing the sky. The way to buy back is to blow up the Demons Purgatory, trying to stop the invasion of the earth of the fallen Azazel Angel. Painkiller can be flu solo, and will also support cooperation for a maximum of three players.
There are two versions of Painkiller to order in advance, including the standard version and Deluxe edition. The standard edition costs 39.99 €/34.99 GBP with pre -sale bonus iron crusade skin pack. This package contains skins for all four characters of the game, which are ink, emptyst, Sol and Roch. The Iron Crusade package also has skins, up to six weapons of the game, with them electroderiver, sublocations, shotguns, SMG, Hand Cannon and Rocket Launcher.
