Hello, welcome to our latest edition of The Wrapp.

This is a chance for you to see what various members of the Pocket Gamer team are planning to play this weekend, and will hopefully give you an idea of some of the weird and wonderful things we get up to when we’re not there so you can keep up to date with the latest news and tips. Heck, you might even find a novel game to play.

New summoning banners have appeared this week on Wuthering Tides, which was usually a day of rejoicing. I’m a bit grumpy about this though, as I almost managed to get Danjin to max Resonance Chain with the previous banner. She’s now just one call away from perfection, so I’ll be mourning this weekend.

On the other hand, Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago was recently released and I had the opportunity to check it out. My first impression is that each character’s runs are a bit low, I was hoping for something like Digimon World with more time spent together. I hope you can prove me wrong.

Oh god, I haven’t played much on mobile this week. I feel like December is so packed with holiday activities that there is simply no time for anything else. I’m hoping to attend the Raid Day that Pokemon Go is hosting this weekend. Before this weekend, Necrozma could only be caught twice. Now, during the raid weekend, we can collect as many raids as we can – and I hope there will be plenty of them!

As we delve deeper into the December chaos, I’m preparing more stories for our weekly “Before the Game” feature, which means I have a nice list of regional releases and early access games lined up for the next few weeks.

It’s a meditative puzzle about helping lost souls soar, unable to soar on your own because you’re stuck in a time loop (which quickly darkens), an automatic survival shooter where you’re irate at the moon (I Am Vengeance), and an adorable devourer a match-3 time where you connect weirdly elated drops to get weirdly elated pets (sign me up). Let’s go!

One of my biggest gripes when it comes to mobile gaming is the Monument Valley series. Of course I know its legacy, but I’ve never found the time to play it. That will change next weekend. After a great review of the third part of Jupiter and subscribing to Netflix, although I rarely employ it, I’m going to give it a try. The art style is absolutely stunning and I’m craving a bit of a puzzle, so this seemed like the perfect choice.

This weekend is going to be extremely busy for me, and I suspect that most of my free time (hah) will be spent administering my various side projects and hobbies. If I can do that, somehow manage to invest my time in something novel (since we all know I’ll continue to open packs in Pokemon TCG Pocket and continue to plow through Monster Hunter Now and Pokemon Go), it will be a dive into Suzerain’s Kingdom content of Rizia as there has just been a petite reissue which Will has reviewed.

Suzerain, along with Six Ages/King of the Dragon Pass and the Hundred Days, completes my sacred trilogy “I should play this on PC, but you can’t stop me‘series.

Not much to say this weekend considering I’m coming down with a bit of a chilly. However, I think if I had to do anything, it might be to return to Balatro, given his recent wins at various award shows (including ours). I had a tough time really cracking it despite a few good rounds, but given the critical acclaim, I think it’s only fair that I give it another chance.

It’s been a week since Path of Exile 2 was released and I still haven’t tried it. I’ve only watched a few streams and the game looks amazing. The only reason I haven’t done it yet is because I’m afraid I might like it a little too much. I have thousands of hours on Steam in PoE, 1, so…yeah.

Anyway, the next title I’m going to try is Mu Origin 3: Demon Swordmaster. I’ve already put a few hours into Mu: Dark Epoch and I just want to see how the titles stack up against each other.

That’s it for games. I might actually stroke some grass this weekend.

Over the past week, I’ve had a few conversations with two of our colleagues about Path of Exile 2. I’ve mentioned it in previous reviews, but I haven’t really had time to enjoy it. I’m really hoping this weekend will buy me some time (and by that I mean a good few hours) so I can really enjoy it.

I hope that apart from Path of Exile 2 I will find time to play this novel mobile game called The Tower. I’ve had it downloaded for a while now, but my free time has never been good enough to dedicate to playing something novel.

I’ve read a bit about another game called Frog’s Kitchen, which is a cute restaurant management simulator, and if I don’t have time to dive into PoE2, I hope I’ll at least have some time to play this one!

It’s starting to get really chilly in my area, so I can finally get out all the blankets and bulky sweaters that have been lying around at times like these. While I always find professional and casual reasons to play games, the chilly weather is a robust argument and has pushed me to look at more genres. I’m not sure if I’ll be looking for more cozy games or just games to balmy me up. This might be the right time to revisit Little Inferno.

But maybe it’s the gameplay that can make me feel warmer, even if there’s no fire or balmy drinks on the screen. All I can do is sit in my bundle and look for titles that will go well with my soothing coffee. Maybe this change in weather will tip me to a candidate for the greatest game of all time.
