Blizzard Entertainment announces the Overwatch 2 Transformers crossover, the 11th season of which will appear in just a few days.
Quick teasing gets to the end of a up-to-date trailer for season 11 which premiered today. It takes up so little space in the movie that there’s a good chance many missed it, but those who made it to the end will notice the familiar Autobot logo and his iconic transformation sound effect.
That’s all we can see of what will inevitably become a full-fledged collaboration between Overwatch 2 and Transformers for now. Fortunately, this isn’t the first time Blizzard has tied its hero shooter to another property, so we at least have a few guesses about the eventual appearance of Autobot and Decepticon content.
In one of the earliest collaborations, One Punch Man skins entered the game, giving characters like Doomfist, Genji, Soldier 76, and Kiriko outfits inspired by characters like Saitama, Genos, Mumen Rider, and Terrible Tornado. The same crossover event introduced additional anime-themed challenges, poses, voice lines, and more. Other crossovers brought IP Cowboy Bebop, Diabloand even Porsche for the game, and each of them provides players with at least one special skin to purchase and wear during battle.
While Overwatch 2’s resident cowboy Cole Cassidy received the Spike Spiegel skin during the Cowboy Bebop event, we can probably guess that some of Blizzard’s many robotic characters will be getting Transformers skins this time around. Our eyes focus on heroes like Bastion, Orisa, Zenyatta, Ramattra and Echo.
Season 11 of Overwatch 2 will debut on June 20. While it’s unclear how or when Transformers content will arrive, today’s trailer gives players a look at the many other delights the upcoming expansions will bring. This season’s Battle Pass is inspired by the superhero Ultrawatch and introduces a long list of ’90s Power Rangers-style cosmetics to match. Ashe will be getting a Mythic skin this time around, which means her robotic counterpart, BOB, will also get some powerful up-to-date threads. Other promising additions include items celebrating Overwatch 2 reaching the 100 million player milestone, a up-to-date push map called Runasapi, a Mythic weapon for Reinhardt, and a rework of the Colosseo map.

He just hasn’t gotten all that glory back yet.”
