Desperate to play Resident Evil 6 on state-of-the-art consoles? NO? Well, a up-to-date assessment suggests you can do it anyway.
I’m not going to sit here and pretend that Resident Evil 6 is a universally beloved entry in the survival horror franchise. This is not! At this point, the games have really jumped the shark, focusing too much on the action and moving away from the survival part that started the series off with. But no matter how bad things get, Resident Evil fans almost always love Resident Evil, so some of them may want to play the game on Xbox Series X or S. As it turns out, they can make that wish happen. It looks like na ESRB websiteas he noticed VGCthat the game has a up-to-date rating specifically for the Xbox Series console line, which of course includes the X and S consoles.

The rating doesn’t reveal anything specific, it just explains some things that justify the Mature 17+ rating (and somewhat jokingly notes that “the word ‘f**k’ appears in the game”), there’s just a mention of the Xbox series, it’s compelling thing. Resident Evil 6 was originally an Xbox 360 and PS3 title, released in 2012, and later received Xbox One and PS4 ports in 2016 along with versions 4 and 5, some graphical improvements, and all DLC. Resident Evil 5 and 6 also received Switch ports in 2019. This up-to-date ESRB rating doesn’t mention a PS5 release, but you can probably assume it will get one too, and it would be weird if 6 got a re-release but 5 didn’t.
This may come as a bit of a disappointment to some fans, however, as it seems to suggest that this will be another remaster rather than the full remake that other entries in the series have received. There’s not much you can do about it! So we’ll have to wait until Capcom makes an announcement, if there is one at all.
