- My rating: Moderate
- My result: To fail
Guess what? Yes, that’s right – another FAILURE. Another one! This is getting ridiculous. I’m starting to get to the point where I can’t write this column anymore because no one will believe what I’m saying. Why should you trust my advice when I’ve proven over and over that I’m a LOSER? I’ll keep doing this for a while, but there’s only so much failure I can take without completely destroying my confidence in the attempt.
That aside, I was joyful to get the blue “ancient wonders” group, but I’m annoyed with myself for not noticing that FENCE, BOXING, ROWING, and DIVING are all Olympic events – but then again, the Olympics were a few weeks ago, I forgot all about that…

What is NYT Connections?
NYT Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games created by the New York Times. It requires you to find groups of four items that have something in common, with each group having a different level of difficulty: green is effortless, yellow is a little harder, blue is often quite tough, and purple is usually very tough.
The positive is that you technically don’t have to solve the last one, since you’ll be able to answer it by elimination. What’s more, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you a bit of breathing room.
It’s a bit more complicated than something like Wordle, though, and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to surprise you with tricks. For example, watch out for homophones and other wordplay that can hide answers.
You can play it for free via NYT Games Page on your desktop computer or mobile device.
