Nintendo Switch and Switch OLED offer 32 GB and 64 GB of internal memory, respectively, some of which is reserved for the operating system. For comparison, Tears of the Kingdom takes up 16 GB, while Breath of the Wild requires about 13.5 GB. Downloading both games digitally would almost fill up the original Switch’s memory, making a high-capacity memory card less of a luxury and more of a necessity.
