Nintendo announces Luigi’s Mansion for NSO, so it’s time for a triple suck

Published:

Many of us walked the halls Luigi’s estatedusting off those ghosts and uncovering the secrets, but how many of them played the original? I personally didn’t as it was released the year I was born and to my disappointment I wasn’t born a prodigy. If you’re in the same boat as me and are too teenage to play, or maybe you just haven’t seen your GameCube in a few decades, you’re in luck. From October 30, Luigi’s Mansion – the original – will be available on your account Nintendo Switch2 so that it can take its rightful place among its sequels just in time for the scariest season yet.

As a GameCube launch title, Luigi’s Mansion is similar to the sequel versions we know and love today as Zoomers, Poltergust and beyond. While it didn’t sell very well at first, it is now the fifth best-selling title on the retro console, which ultimately prompted Nintendo to release a sequel. Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon (often known as Luigi’s Mansion 2) was originally released on the Nintendo 3DS, but received a port to the Switch last year. The older brother of both games, Luigi’s Mansion 3, was, of course, released on Switch from the very beginning, completing the set on the latest generation consoles.

To get it, you’ll need a Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership – but once you have both, you’ll be swallowing ghosts in no time because Luigi’s Mansion won’t cost you anything extra. We’re excited enough that the original Luigi’s Mansion is coming to Switch, although some people aren’t too ecstatic about the fact that the game can’t be owned and requires a membership. I understand that feeling – it’s as if Nintendo is leasing you access to the game, which has long been the talk of the internet in connection with Steam adding a disclaimer on the matter last year.

Whether you own the game or not, it’s worth signing up for NSO, where you’ll find plenty of other great ports to venerable Nintendo consoles, including the Japan-exclusive Mario and Wario, the iconic Forsaken 64, and everyone’s favorite bot returning in Chibi-Robo. There have been so many announcements that I think it’s worth becoming an NSO member just to look forward to the future. The library will likely expand over time, making it more and more enticing.

I guess that decides which Halloween game I’ll play this year, although the competition is fierce. If you want to talk about other horror games I should play, join in Discussion on pocket tactics server and surprise me with your recommendations. Also, I recently visited the Nintendo pop-up store in London, so stay tuned TikTok by Pocket Tactics I’ll soon find out how I did (and if I have any money left).
