If you are not familiar with Consumers Nightis an indie horror about working in a supermarket and having to deal with people who demand something from you every two seconds. That’s okay, that also makes my heart beat faster. Anyway, it looks like the game already has a release date set.
Although the game version is in development available on Itch.io from 2020 – it was actually part of it Racial Justice and Equality Package released by the platform in the same year – if you’ve visited its Steam page in recent years, you’ll have noticed that its release is still listed as “coming soon.”

Well, it looks like that will change soon because the lone creator of Germfood tweeted “Night of the Consumers (full game) coming October 28th,” followed by a joke about it taking them four years to finish. So, while no details have been given yet, it looks like you’ll be able to enjoy the full experience with all the “nights” – levels, it seems – that Germfood had in mind to create its story.
It looks like you won’t have to buy the game again on Itch once the full version comes out if you’ve already purchased the version currently available on that platform, and its listing on that platform included a note that said, “This game is a work in progress. If you purchase the game, you’ll receive any future updates for free.”
In the meantime, you can watch the trailer below to see what awaits you:
Here’s the description, in case that still doesn’t convince you: “Start a new job as a retail employee and try to balance stocking empty shelves, wiping up vomit, maintaining store standards, meeting the constant requests of fast-paced customers, and more… all while maintaining your sanity. A fast-paced, anxiety-inducing, first-person thrill ride that injects terror into the mundanity of everyday life.”
