It seems that no world – physical or digital – is immune to NewJeans’ girly pop style. The world-famous K-pop group debuted in… PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds as part of Wednesday’s 30.1 update. The collaboration includes each member of the group as a playable character, cute accessories to dress up the characters, emotes for popular dances to songs like “OMG,” and more. Equal parts weird and wonderful PUBG update has already gained fascination among fans on the Internet.
Krafton released NewJeans x PUBG: Battlegrounds to Windows PC users on Wednesday, and will roll it out to console users on June 20. The PC patch also introduced some environmental changes. For example, Taego’s School has been transformed into a rainbow wonderland, and the starting island now has a pink and purple truck stage every 8km of the map. You can play as any NewJeans member – Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin or Hyein – and dress your character in cute pastel accessories. You can see all the details on PUBG side.
This collaboration brings lively color to a gray world PUBG. Like other games with live service, PUBG he is no stranger to surprising collaborations. PUBG started cooperation with animated series Neon Genesis Evangelion and other games like Angry Birds. Still, the NewJeans collaboration stands out from previous events, and now people on the Internet are sharing videos of the girls’ emotions while playing. The dances just look good. Here it is Minji’s video with NewJeans performing several dances from songs like “Super Shy” and “OMG.”
It’s only been a day and people have already started creating memes featuring a group of girls in the game. There are several moments in this movie including one where Haerin dances on the knocked out player and then shoots them at point-blank range.
I personally can’t get it video with several characters I joined in the choreo dance to “Hype Boy” straight from my head.
There’s a lot to check out, so if loads of Bunnies are suddenly interested in giving it a try PUBGI wouldn’t blame them.
