  • Neverness to Everness will conduct its first closed beta test
  • Unfortunately, you won’t get gloves for this unless you’re in mainland China
  • But you can watch from afar as Hotta Studios’ balmy novel property nears launch

Neverness to Everness, the upcoming 3D open-world RPG from Hotta Studios, will hold its first closed beta test. However, for those of you who are die-hard fans of 3D RPGs, you won’t be getting your hands on this unless you live in mainland China, where the beta is scheduled to take place.

That’s what people say Gematsuwho provided a brief overview of the novel story elements available in this version. However, if you’ve had a chance to check out the trailers for the city of Eibon (which you can see below), you probably won’t be surprised by the novel additions. We get more details about the story’s slightly more comedic tone and plenty of insight into how the weird and the mundane coexist in Hetherau.

You may be more familiar with Hotta Studios, their parent company Perfect World, which also created Tower of Fantasy, which made a huge splash upon release. And while Neverness to Everness fits quite well into the 3D RPG world that is morphing into a more urban setting, it does have a few things that stand out.

Never say never… again

First of all, open world driving! Yes, if you are a fan of speeding through city streets at 90 miles per hour in the middle of the night, first of all, report it to the police, and secondly, maybe feed that speed demon with the opportunity to buy and customize your car instead of a variety of cars! Just be careful, because crashes are just as destructive as in real life.

But seriously, Neverness to Everness will face stiff competition upon release. Not only from MiHoYo’s Zenless Zone Zero, which has once again set the standard for 3D open-world RPGs on mobile, but also from NetEase, which has thrown in the towel by tasking Naked Rain with developing Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), which also jumps in a similar setting.
