Multiversion already has a two-in-one fighter with Tom and Jerry, who, unlike the Powerpuff Girls, actually fight Mutuallygiven their status as mortal enemies. But the Powerpuff Girls have another impressive trick up their Dynamo Suit sleeve: They have a variant character in the form of the Rowdyruff Boys, a Mojo Jojo creation born from a mix of armpit hair, prison canteen snails, and a stolen dog tail. The boys get their own voice lines, which is a nice, you-didn’t-have-to-think-this-hard thing to do.
The Powerpuff Girls and their smelly counterparts are coming Multiversion September 17, as part of Season 3: “Sugar, Spice, & Everything Nice.” They will be joined by newcomer Nubia, Queen of DC’s Amazons and the comic book publisher’s first black female superhero. The Destroyed Version Powerpuff GirlsTownsville is also on its way to Multiversion.
Multiversion fans will also notice a recent Gremlins– scene- and fight-inspired versions of Michael Keaton’s characters in Thursday’s Powerpuff Girls. We see the 1989 movie version of Batman beating up Beetlejuice, which is honestly just good fun for Keaton fans.
