MSI’s widescreen PC case seriously underestimates how bad I am at organizing cables

As a person who believes in ideal the finish and neat interior of the computer, I really applaud the intentions behind MSI’s Project Zero X. Currently on display at CES 2025, it’s a desktop prototype that uses clever geometry and an unconventional motherboard I/O arrangement to hide virtually every single connector cable for a spotless design that fits inside a four-sided glass compartment for your viewing pleasure. These are the closest PCs get to the straightforward Victorian pleasures of a nice terrarium, and honestly, they do a decent job.

The problem is that if the Project Zero And it is hundred percent chance I’ll destroy it.

I don’t remember if I’ve ever admitted it, but I absolutely suck at cable management. Simply, terrible. I can’t straighten them out. I can’t bend them where I want. I have no idea what to do with this bulk, except to shove it under the power supply cover like a bunch of ancient Christmas lights that barely fit back into the box. I almost considered begging Liam (RPS alone) not to record this video of me wandering through the entire process, because I knew it would make me look like some kind of hardware fraud Frank Abagnale with zips. Remember that if you are truly an imposter, it is not imposter syndrome.

The thing is, it doesn’t matter what MSI did with the Project Zero If I try to build a PC out of it, it will be full of stray cables and its entire purpose will be undermined. I don’t know how. But I will find a way.

Still, for less flawed PC makers, that might be quite a statement. Provided, however, that the established mixture of glass and metal remains within the limits of Your Kinda Thing. Opinions on case designs may vary, of course, even among the relatively diminutive sample of the current RPS team: from this morning’s meeting where I discussed Project Zero X, it appears that Graham wants to see as little of the inside of his computer as possible , Edwin doesn’t like anything painted black or with lights, and Nic wishes his was made of wood. Maybe it doesn’t apply to us then.
