Mr.Beastone of the most popular content creators in the world, is seen by many as a family-friendly and mostly good guy who does a lot of charity work. But recent controversies, including one involving his past utilize of slurs, have cast a shadow over the renowned YouTuber’s expansive empire.
Jimmy Donaldson, better known online as MrBeast, has become one of the most renowned internet personalities, largely due to his wildly popular videos, which often feature immense sums of money being given away for charity or as prizes in a major competition. The YouTuber is also known for politically neutral and family genialoften avoiding profanity and violence in his content. It’s helped him amass over 300 million YouTube subscribers, sell a ton of candy bars and merchandise, and led to him reportedly receiving $100 million for host and develop a reality show for Amazon. But his nice guy empire is clearly meeting resistance.
July 24 a clip from 2017 showing the then 18- or 19-year-old MrBeast has resurfaced online. In a clip posted by YouTube influencer Rosanna Pansino, MrBeast jokes about buying black people and “n-words” for $300. Later in the video, MrBeast makes homophobic slurs and jokingly asks his chat to stop posting “n-words.” At one point, someone suggests they sell black people for $69, to which MrBeast responds with a smile and a laugh, “That’s a high price.”
In a separate clip allegedly from 2017,MrBeast and others talk on podcast and joke about having sex with 14-year-old rapper Bhad Barbie.
“When Jimmy was a teenager, he acted like many other kids and used inappropriate language in an attempt to be funny.” said the spokesman for MrBeast Press Association.
“He has apologized many times over the years and has learned that with increasing influence comes increased responsibility to be more aware and sensitive to the power of language. After making some bad jokes and other mistakes when he was younger, as an adult he has focused on engaging the MrBeast community to work together to make a positive impact around the world.”

Even more controversy surrounding MrBeast
It’s not just MrBeast’s vintage clips that are plaguing the internet star. A video created by someone who claims to have worked for MrBeast in the past suggests that some of the contests he hosts are staged and that actors or friends win the prizes.
And in behind schedule July, MrBeast cut ties with Ava Kris Tyson following accusations that his former co-host seduced the minor years ago. MrBeast later said in a statement that what Tyson did was “unacceptable.” The creator has already hired an independent investigator in the hope that they would “make sure” that all the facts would be clear to him.
But wait, that’s not all that’s undermining MrBeast’s good guy empire. There have been multiple reports and rumors that his Amazon reality show, which features a $5 million prize, is a unsafe disaster. New report from New York Times claims that people are not being adequately nourished, are being repeatedly injured, and are not receiving proper or appropriate medical care.
Some women say they were denied immaculate underwear when their periods started, while others say they had no access to medication when they needed it.
A MrBeast representative told the newspaper that the shooting “got complicated due to CrowdStrike Incidentextreme weather conditions and other unexpected logistical and communication challenges.” The spokesperson claimed that MrBeast had initiated a formal review and was “taking steps to ensure that we learn from this experience.”
It appears the well-known content creator’s days as a good guy on the web are coming to an end as he looks to expand his empire even further.
