- Simple but challenging puzzles
- Work with the moose and squirrels to complete tasks
- The controls can be confusing at first
No human can match the ego and insolence of a house cat. If you’ve ever dealt with a fluffy cat, you know that it secretly rules the world (or at least it thinks it does). Mister Antonio, a novel puzzle from the developer Bart Bontetasks you with providing the cat with the desired balls of yarn. Of course, Mr. Antonio, as a cat, is quite picky, so you have to think ahead when collecting the precious balls of yarn.
As you wish, Mr. Antonio
Each level consists of one or more micro-worlds. You will see Mr. Antonio, your beloved black cat, sitting in front of your house. The thought bubble above his head indicates what color ball he wants and in what order. Your task is to collect them as requested and present them to your capricious cat. When you fulfill the cat’s request, it will run inside and you will advance to the next level.
Each mini-world looks like a giant black hairball. Apart from the balls and the occasional snow cloud, everything in each microworld is a black silhouette. This combined with the starry night sky background makes these shapes really pop on screen.
Mr. Antonio has plain controls. There are arrows to move left and right. The middle arrow appears when you can travel to another micro world. The controls are plain, but it’s effortless to confuse which arrow to click as you move around each micro-world in a circular motion. However, after completing a few levels, you will understand this game.

Every time you pick up a ball of yarn, it is added to the top of the pile, which is something you need to remember. Sometimes your cat will ask you to sprinkle snow on certain balls. In order for the ball of yarn to be covered with snow, after picking it up, you need to walk under the cloud. Of course, your beloved pet and master will not accept snow unless asked to do so.
Cooperate with your forest friends to please Mr. Antonio
Despite the rudimentary nature of the puzzles, they pose a genuine challenge. If you get stuck, you can watch the ad to get the solution. To move between mini-worlds, you will have to apply ladders located at specific points. Limited paths make collecting the balls in the right order more challenging. Fortunately, the local fauna will be cheerful to lend a hand you.
Some levels feature a moose or a squirrel. Both forest creatures will lend a hand you in their own way. Approaching a moose causes it to headbutt you, which causes the balls you are holding to reverse their order.

The squirrels, on the other hand, lend a hand you by grabbing the ball of yarn at the bottom of the pile and running up the tree. Walk to the other side of the tree and the squirrel will place the ball on top of your pile. You will have to take advantage of your forest friend’s generosity if you want to please Mr. Antonio.
Mister Antonio is an sanguine, minimalist, colorful puzzle that is surprisingly complex. The monochromatic world and energetic balls of yarn create a fascinating aesthetic. If you are a puzzle enthusiast or simply a cat lover, you will enjoy fulfilling Mr. Antonio’s every desire.
