Minecraft players have built a stunning 1:1 scale replica of New York City.

Presented in Reddit post by d3_cent, below, construction includes iconic landmarks like the Brooklyn Bridge, Battery Park and more. Construction has been ongoing for four years and, despite its incredible size, d3_cent said only about 68% of lower Manhattan has been completed.

In addition to these examples, the team also creates right subway systems underground, and even the depth of the water surrounding Manhattan is right. The current focus of construction is on the exteriors, but the interiors of some celebrated buildings have also been recreated.

The project has involved thousands of Minecraft players so far, but given the amount of work that even such a petite part of New York required, d3_cent said the team is always looking for more people to join.

Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time, with an incredible 300 million copies sold, and is still one of the most popular games despite being 15 years senior, with its emphasis on creativity seemingly offering endless replayability. Developer Mojang recently announced the end of PlayStation VR support, although its PS5 version was eventually released in preview form in June.
