Millions of viewers are watching the Halo PS5 launch on PlayStation’s social media accounts

The official reveal of Halo: Campaign Evolved on PS5 attracted millions of views across Sony’s social media accounts.

Between similar ones YouTube AND X (Or Twitter), commitment wasn’t an option as potential players welcomed the Xbox’s Master Chief mascot on Sony’s machine.

On official PlayStation account on YouTubethe Silent Cartographer trailer had 837,000 views at the time of writing. views, and the Halo Studios roundtable – 534 thousand. views.

For comparison, the same trailers have 71,000 views respectively. and 70 thousand views on the website official Xbox channel on YouTubealthough a longer gameplay video – not uploaded by Sony – has 232,000. views.

The PlayStation YouTube channel has over three times as many subscribers as the Xbox channel, so it has an advantage in this regard.

And to be fair, official Halo YouTube channel the trailer attracted 571,000 views and 431 thousand views at the round table. The gameplay video in question had over 1.2 million views.

But it goes on X (Or Twitter), where the Halo PS5 announcement went truly viral.

Sony’s announcement – announcing “Master Chief is coming to PlayStation” – was viewed by over 12.4 million people. Comparable tweets from Xbox and Halo accounts received 483,000 respectively. views and 9.2 million views.

So it’s clear that this exposure caused substantial publicity among PS5 fans.

Of course, some of this is due to the novelty of seeing Microsoft’s flagship series in the PlayStation format, but we’d expect Halo: Campaign Evolved to be substantial will be sold when it arrives on Sony’s system next year.
