UPDATE: Microsoft has confirmed the release of Spyro Reignited Trilogy on Game Pass.
In blog entryMicrosoft has announced that Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be coming to Game Pass tomorrow, November 12. It is available as part of Game Pass Standard, Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, in the cloud, for consoles and PCs.
ORIGINAL STORY: Microsoft has teased the addition of Spyro the Dragon to its Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
In a thinly veiled post on Xbox Game Pass’s X/Twitter, Microsoft posted a tiny teaser showing a crate with the message: “Hey, uhh, who left this crate here?”
The official Spyro account responded with eyes, which means something is definitely happening but hasn’t been properly announced yet.

All of this points to the launch of Game Pass for the well-received Toys for Bob Spyro: Reignited Trilogy collection, which launched in 2018 to critical acclaim. Contains remakes of the first three Spyro games: Spyro the Dragon (1998); Spyro 2: Ripto’s Fury! (1999); and Spyro: Year of the Dragon (2000). As of September 2023, Spyro: Reignited Trilogy has sold over 10 million copies.
The first wave of the November 2024 Game Pass offering will end on November 19 with the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which means Microsoft will announce Wave 2 soon.
The addition of Spyro to Game Pass will be a continuation of Activision Blizzard games being made available as part of the subscription service following Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of the company last year. Game Pass now includes Blizzard’s Diablo 4 and Activision’s recently released Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, with more to come.
