“Street Burgers” are coming to McD’s… in Japan
Capcom and McDonald’s of Japan will release a line of Street Fighter-themed burgers – “Street Burgers” – later this month in an inspiring promotion that also includes ketchup and mustard-inspired costumes for the film’s cast Street Fighter 6. The fresh Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li-based sandwiches will arrive in McDonald’s stores on October 22, so I hope you’ve already planned your trip to Japan.
McDonald’s Street Burgers offerings include a Ryu-inspired roasted garlic mayonnaise and a teriyaki egg burger; Chun-Li-inspired fried chicken with sweet and sour mayonnaise sandwich; and Torichi, a triple cheeseburger that is based on Ken for some reason. (I think the cheese looks like Ken’s hair…) There’s also a McFizz and a McFloat with carbonated apple juice and a special seasoning for fries. And a double-cheese sausage McMuffin.
Look, the point is that there are some great ads to add to Street Burgers promotions, and they all feature custom sprites – watch in awe as Akuma throws a roasted garlic bulb at Ryu and Guile Sonic Booms a ton of mayonnaise at Chun-Li – which you can enjoy below.
Ryu vs. Gouki Nalds
Chun-Li vs. Smile Guile
Ken vs. Vega Smile (aka M. Bison Burger)
Although most collaborations are thematic Super Street Fighter 2-style images, special McDonald’s color costumes are coming Street Fighter 6 for free (at least in Japan). The yellow and red variants of the World Warriors uniforms evoke the speedy food giant’s color scheme and make each warrior look a bit like Ronald McDonald.
For now, though, enjoy special stage art and hadouken burger throwing art created for the crossover in the gallery below.
Street Fighter 6 is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X.
