Marvel Rivals mod support does not work

Published:

Right after Season 1 started on Friday, players started asking questions Marvel Rivals Discord why their mods don’t work. It turns out that the game now scans its files to see if they have been changed, using a feature called resource hash checking. Anything it doesn’t recognize simply won’t work.

“It is possible, but unlikely, that a workaround will be found. I will let everyone here know if/when this happens” – MerryJoyKey, Solution Developer Marvel Rivals mod manager at NexusMods, wrote comment Today. They have postponed updates to their mod until a solution is found.

NetEase did not warn players about the change, nor was it in the Season 1 patch notes. The only statement the studio made about mods was on Wednesday, when it told Polygon: “It is not recommended to modify any game files as it involves with the risk of being banned.”

For now, there is no information about anyone being punished. By game terms of useMods were never allowed and were always subject to bans, but that didn’t stop players from using them. Over the last few weeks, thousands of people have shared and downloaded mods on NexusMods, which is enough competition Skyrim AND Cyberpunk 2077 on the list of games with the best mods of the month. Custom skins featuring US Presidents Donald Trump, Joe Biden and Barack Obama have been removed from the site as part of rules against fashions “related to socio-political issues in the United States.”

It’s not uncommon for competitive online multiplayer games to take a tough stance on mods. In some cases, they can change the game in a way that gives players an unfair advantage, for example by removing geometry from the map. Marvel Rivals fads didn’t go that far and most of them were quite benign, but it’s possible that they got out of hand over time.

Now players will have to dress up their favorite heroes the old-fashioned way and save enough money to buy skins in the store. Era Iron Man’s Vegeta AND Iron Fist Goku It seems that, unfortunately, it’s over.
