Developed by Ubisoft, Mario + Rabbids are some of the only Mario titles that weren’t developed by Nintendo, which is refreshing. The gameplay of Sparks of Hope is very similar to Kingdom Battle (its prequel). It’s a turn-based strategy RPG in which you must rescue “Sparks” scattered across the galaxy, each offering unique abilities to aid in battle. All our favorite Mario Rabbids – like Rabbid Luigi – are back too!
When it comes to history, the stakes are higher than ever. Peace in the Mushroom Kingdom is disturbed when creatures called Sparks appear, pursued by a powerful manta ray tainted with corrupt power. In the chaos, Rabbid Peach is kidnapped while trying to take a selfie.
Oh, and Grant Kirkhope composed the soundtrack – you may remember him as the guy who did the music for Banjo-Kazooie or the pause music for Goldeneye 007.
